Circulation Services

Access to the general materials collection is available through Circulation. All materials are checked out, returned, or renewed at the Circulation Desk. At the Circulation Desk, one can receive assistance on the location of materials, answers to directional questions and some transactional questions, activate your FMU ID Card, pay for charges, pick up and pay for copies, check out a laptop computer to use in the library, and get popular non-circulating periodicals (newspapers and some magazines) to use within the library.

All FMU faculty, staff, and students must use their FMU ID Card which should be current and validated each school year to borrow materials. Borrowers are financially responsible for all materials checked out on their FMU ID Cards.

Computer Commons

Computers are available in the Computer Commons located on the first floor of the library. Services are free, but we ask that students limit printing to fewer than 30 pages per visit. All computers require a login and password. Visiting patrons must get a temporary login from the Cyberzone.

Course Reserves

Reserves are course-related materials, such as photocopied articles, books and videos placed in the library by professors for their students to use. All reserve items are available for short check-out periods (2 hours) from the Circulation Desk, and they are for use in the library only.

Faculty members who need to place photocopied materials on reserve  will need to provide the library with proof of copyright permission. Permission may be obtained by logging on to the Copyright Clearance Center or calling 1-855-239-3415.
