Nathan W. Collier Library’s foremost existence is to support the institution’s mission, curriculum, and governance through teaching, research, and service functions. Our goal is to provide an environment that is nurturing and engaging for learners to flourish in their educational and individual pursuits.
The Library’s mission is to provide resources and instructional materials that support the “transmission and exchange of scholarly information” alongside its wide range of educational services which are based on the principles of the American Library Association (ALA) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools™ Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Nathan W. Collier Library seeks to provide quality information, access services, cultural programs, and library instruction in support of the evolving curriculum of Florida Memorial University. The Library staff provides leadership in the use and retrieval of information, information literacy, research, and services. The Library evaluates its collections, customer needs, service delivery, technology, and other activities on a regular basis, in order to continue to meet the challenges of a changing technological and global society.
Library embraces FMU’s cultural climate and technological needs. Therefore, the Library’s’ website is designed with its students, and stakeholders in mind. Allowing electronic access to over 150,000 scholarly and peer-reviewed volumes, that are readily available to users and are enough in scope to support both onsite and online learning. The Library seeks to build and maintain a quality collection by coordinating the active participation of the university community in identifying and acquiring resources.
