MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial scored 20 points in the second quarter in a tight 34-29 victory over Webber International for its annual Homecoming game. The Lions improve to 3-1 in conference play.

Lions quarterback Cedquan Smith, who leads the SUN conference in touchdowns, finished the game completing 15-of-25 passes for 178 yards, two passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and one interception. FMU wide receiver Frank Bentley, who finished with two touchdown receptions in the narrow victory, continued his solid campaign.

Running back Quino Mauricette produced 125 yards on the ground, slicing the Gyrenes defense all afternoon.

On the defensive end, Iowa State transfer Daeshawn Davis produced a team-high seven tackles and also generated a forced fumble and a sack for the Lions. Teammate Marcel Blocker finished with two tackles and an interception which he returned 29 yards.

FMU returns to action on Saturday, October 28 as they face Southeastern on the road. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
