POLICY AND SECURITY

FMU Security

Due to the proximity of the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport guests will NOT be allowed to bring helium ballons or remote-controlled vehicles of any kind onto the campus of Florida Memorial University. The Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport is a joint civil-military airport operated by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department and is home to the busiest U.S. Coast Guard Air/Sea Rescue Station. Guests who violate this rule will have their balloons or remote-controlled vehicles confiscated by Campus Security.

Alcoholic beverages and weapons of any kind are forbidden. Florida Memorial University is also a smoke-free campus. FMU’s police officers will be posted throughout the ceremony. In the case of an emergency or suspicious activity, please contact a FMU police officer or call Campus Security at (305) 626-3771.

Tickets Required
Guests must have a ticket to attend the ceremony. Only infants and small toddlers who will remain in an adult’s lap for the duration of the ceremony can enter without a ticket. Strollers are strongly discouraged because they pose a danger in case of emergency.
