Message from the Chair

The Department Arts & Humanities is a robust beacon of African American and African American Diaspora culture and education to the University and the world. Majors and minors in this department are many and varied, inspiring and engaging—from religion, to performing arts, to public relations.

Whichever path you choose in the Department of Arts & Humanities, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary community of learners who are diverse, determined, focused, and passionate to make their mark in the world that cannot be erased!

When you graduate from Florida Memorial University, you’ll be well equipped to perform – on the world’s stages and concert venues, in traditional and remote workplaces, in nonprofits, or in becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Inspired by our habits of excellence: Character, Leadership, Accountability, Service and Scholarship, our Faculty and Staff will encourage your creativity, develop your research and critical thinking capabilities, refine your artistic appreciation, challenge your communication skills, and sharpen your moral compass.

We will equip you to Own Your Excellence!
