Internships

Here at Florida Memorial University, we have been extremely successful in gaining internships and research opportunities for the science (biology, chemistry, physics-engineering) majors. Over the years, we have achieved several first place winners in these areas of STEM. Because we encourage early exposure to research, the professional success of students who have participated in research activities/FGLSAMP Expos is 100%. We train winners at FMU!!

Damion Showers, a senior majoring in Biology, recently visited the College of Medicine and the College of Dentistry at Howard University. He toured the campus and met several faculty, including Dr. Marie Fidelia-Lambert, professor of Medicine. Afterwards, he visited the “Valley” (the learned community of the natural sciences at Howard), Founders Library and the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, one of the world’s largest repositories dedicated to the culture and history of people of African descent; U.S. Supreme Court and the Library of Congress, where he received a library card to use the reading room.
