MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | The Lions played inspired soccer during its annual homecoming week, earning a 5-2 victory over Webber International at Dr. Lester Brown Park.

Florida Memorial wasted no time and took an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the sixth minute from striker Geovannie Lake. Minutes later, central defender Burak Cuban connected on a perfect corner kick from teammate Brad Tulley, scoring a brilliant goal with a header in the top right corner of the goal
After Webber responded with a goal, FMU defender Thomas Cole scored a magnificent free kick goal from beyond 30 yards out, giving the Lions a 3-1 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Lake found the back of the net for the second time in the contest before Noah Link added an insurance goal to seal the deal for FMU.

Lions goalkeeper Joshua Aranzazu allowed two goals and produced one save in the huge home victory.

Florida Memorial returns to action on Sunday, October 22 as they host SCAD-Savannah to end homecoming week. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. at Dr. Lester Brown Park.
