FMU Weather Alert

Florida Memorial University is actively monitoring the weather.

Subtropical Nicole is now Tropical Storm Nicole.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Nicole is expected to escalate to a Category 1 hurricane by Wednesday before making landfall possibly in Palm Beach County on Thursday Morning.

Forecasters say Tropical Nicole has a very large wind field, which means impacts from the system will be felt in most of South Florida.

FMU’s Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor and assess the situation and provide timely communication of any impact on FMU’s operations or activities.

At this time all classes, events, and activities are operating on a regular schedule.

If there are extenuating circumstances, such as transportation, childcare, or storm damage, preventing employees from returning to work who reside in Palm Beach County or affected areas, please contact your immediate supervisor for remote work that is within your job duties/responsibilities.

The latest information and updates will be shared through the WENS emergency alert notification and posted on the University’s website and social media platforms.
