SACSCOC update

FMU is pleased to share the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has officially lifted FMU’s Probation for Good Cause. FMU was initially cited by SACSCOC in June 2021, and while the issues leading to the probationary citing were financial, strategies were immediately implemented to address them, including the formation of a SACSCOC Task Force. That Task Force has worked tirelessly for the past year to ensure all issues were addressed in order to regain SACSCOC compliance.

During a campus visit in April, the SACSCOC review committee reported no findings and concluded that FMU met and fully satisfied all standards. On June 14, The SACSCOC Board of Trustees voted to remove FMU’s Probation for Good Cause sanction.

The Lion family’s support during a difficult process was crucial in helping to ensure a long and stable future for our school. Thanks to the dedication, hard work, and sacrifices of the Board of Trustees, leadership team, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders, FMU is financially stable, academically sound, and continues ascending to excellence.
