Re: COVID-19 Update
Florida Memorial University, like other universities, continues to adjust and provide a quality education to our students while managing challenges imposed by the global health pandemic. The health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff has been and remains our top priority. I want to extend my appreciation to our campus community, who have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to helping keep our FMU safe. Outlined below are the latest updates regarding our COVID-19 protocols.
As reflected in our COVID-19 Dashboard, there were no new reported cases of COVID-19 as of October 22. Reflected in last week’s communication, two part-time nurses have joined FMU to assist with testing and any COVID-19-related concerns. Additionally, all students, faculty, and staff on campus must be tested every two weeks. Rapid testing is available to all students on campus every Monday and Thursday, with results within 15 minutes. The Jessie Trice Mobile Unit is available for faculty and staff testing on Thursdays between 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., with results sent within a few days.
All students must officially check out of the residence halls by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, unless they receive prior approval from the Division of Student Affairs. Please submit the Request for Winter Break Housing form by Friday, October 30th . Students should continue to monitor their FMU email from the Division of Student Affairs for additional instructions.
Again, I would like to sincerely thank you, our FMU family, for helping us SPREAD Lion Pride and Stop COVID-19.
