“No person in the United States, shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”   [Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R Part 106 (Title IX)].

 

Please be advised that Florida Memorial University complies with Title IX, the federal law which prohibits discrimination or harassment based on gender as promulgated through the United States Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR). The Title IX Coordinator reports to the Office of the President and has authority to carry out any functions relevant to compliance and enforcement. Every student and employee is subject to Title IX and has an affirmative duty to report violations and cooperate with investigations, including requests for interviews or information from the Title IX Coordinator whose principal mission is to prevent discrimination or harassment. Investigations, whenever practical, will be completed within sixty (60) days.
