Scholarships

All Undergraduate Admissions Scholarship awards are open to qualified U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international students only. Scholarships are only awarded in the Fall term of each academic year and may not be used during the Summer term.

To qualify for scholarship consideration, students must be admitted to Florida Memorial University prior to December 1, 2020 for Fall 2021. Students are strongly encouraged to submit a completed admissions application by November 15th to allow time for the application to be processed.

The last test date results used for scholarship consideration are SAT – November 2, 2020, and ACT – October 26, 2020.

Note- You must indicate Florida Memorial University as one of your choice schools to receive scores, otherwise we cannot guarantee scores will arrive in time for scholarship evaluation. If we have not received your scores by the time we review, your application will not be considered.

To be considered, students must submit a completed scholarship application no later than November 15, 2020. A complete FMU scholarship application includes having received the required two letters of recommendation and essay by this date.

To apply, a student must:

  • Be enrolled as a high school student progressing normally toward completion of high school and planning to enroll full-time in college following the completion of high school;
  • Be a citizen of the United States, a U.S. lawful permanent resident or an international student with intention of receiving the F-1 visa to study in the United States.
  • Meet minimum scholarship requirements.
  • Complete and submit essay
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation

The following scholarships are competitive and for First-Time in college students only:

Presidential Leadership Scholars Scholarship
4.0 or higher GPA (unweighted)
Minimum SAT Score-1370
Minimum ACT score-32
Minimum 100 completed hours of Community Service

100% tuition, 50% housing and fees.

Academic Excellence Scholarship
3.6-4.0 GPA (unweighted)

Essay Questions

  1. Name a historical figure, past or present, that you would like to have a conversation with. What topics would you cover and why?
  2. How would FMU assist you with student development, social responsibility, and academic achievement?
  3. If you were able to create a university of your own, what programs would you promote and why? (a minimum of 3 academic programs are required)

Please submit TWO letters of recommendation. The scholarship committee will read and review each letter of recommendation thoroughly so make sure you are putting forth the best representation of you!

ROAR Transfer Scholarship Award
The ROAR Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is open to qualified incoming U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international Transfer students only. To qualify for consideration, students must be admitted to Florida Memorial University prior to March 1, 2021. Students are strongly encouraged to submit a completed admissions application by January 15 to allow time for the application to be processed.

To be considered, students must submit a completed scholarship application no later than March 15, 2021. Student must begin enrollment for Fall term to be eligible.

To apply, a student must:

Be a citizen of the United States, a U.S. lawful permanent resident or an international student with intention of receiving the F-1 visa to study in the United States.

Meet minimum scholarship requirements:

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Be a transfer student with 60 transferable credit hours and/or AA degree
  • Enrolled full time, 12 or more credits
