Black Male College Explorers Program (BMCEP) – BMCEP is a five (5) week residential program designed for Black males in grades 7 – 12 in the public school system. The objective of the program is to increase the number of Black males graduating from high school; facilitate their ability to make appropriate career decisions; and increase the number of college bound Black males as well as their chances of earning a degree. BMCEP enrolls 50-60 youth from over 25 schools throughout South Florida. Participants enroll in courses such as Reading/English, African History, Computer Science, Mathematics, Personal Development/Life Skills, Communication Skills, Financial Management and Entrepreneurship. Participants attend and participate in a Rites of Passage Program, teen summits (group discussions), community service projects, workshops, sports competitions, weekly chapel visits as well as other educational and extra-curricular activities.
