RESIDENTIAL LIFE
Mission Statement
The Department of Residential Life is committed to enhance the quality of life amongst residents by providing secure and comfortable well maintained housing. In addition the department provides the opportunity for social, educational involvement and for self-governance.
Department Description
The residential life department has two different residential units which can accommodate student residents. Each residence hall has its own unique character; the traditional style which are cost saving gives the student an opportunity to bond on a daily basis with other residents. The suite-style provides a more intimate setting with some having living room space. All residential units are furnished with standard university furniture (bed, dresser, desk, and chair); all residence halls have Wi-Fi, internet access and cable television, there are no landlines in the resident’s rooms.
Residence Halls
Ray Goode
Used primarily to accommodate male students, Goode Hall contains individual rooms, recreation and study lounges, laundry room, storage room, and residential space designated for Mr. Florida Memorial University.
Willie C. Robinson
Used to accommodate female students, this residence hall contains individual rooms, recreation and study lounges and laundry rooms.
Living and Learning Buildings 2, 3 & 4
These residence halls contain suite-style rooms (private and semi-private) with bathrooms and kitchenettes, recreation and game rooms, fitness rooms, media rooms, multifunction reception rooms, study rooms, computer rooms, student lounges, laundry rooms, and rooms for vending machines. In addition, Building #2 will also have a smart classroom
Life on Campus
While living on campus, strive to establish and maintain a residential environment that will help you achieve your educational goals. This environment should support the academic learning-taking place, but also promote the learning of life skills, plus provide the opportunity to maximize your self-development. Strive for an educational and learning experience that takes you beyond the classroom and makes you more complete and well rounded. Get to know other students from other parts of the country and the world. Your time here offers many opportunities to which you will never again have access.
