Information Campaign

Designed to increase help-seeking; de-stigmatize mental illness; publicize and promote suicide prevention and mental health promotion events and programs; increase students knowledge and awareness of the suicide prevention protocols. Components of the campaign include the following:

  • Brochures/Posters related to mental health and suicide/drugs and alcohol and factors that promote resiliency
  • Information Campaign Contest:  The purpose of the campaign is to utilize the creative talents of FMU students to produce an informative and educational communication campaign to disseminate information and raise awareness about mental health and encourage help seeking
  • Social Media Messaging via:
  • Web Page:  www.fmuniv.edu/life-at-fmu/suicide-prevention
  • Twitter Page:  called FMU-LIVE. The role of the page administrator/s is to provide information on weekly topics and answer questions students post.
  • Facebook Page: Students receive information regarding a specific topic every Monday and Wednesday, and every other Friday. https://www.facebook.com/FmuLive


  • Crisis Response Protocols: outlines the procedures to respond to suicidal students
  • Suicide Prevention Lifeline
  • Safe Zone Program: where faculty/staff provide students with social and emotional support
  • Needs Assessment: (Summary of data)
