Re: COVID-19 Update IV
Florida Memorial University deeply cares about the well-being of its students, faculty, and staff and continues to monitor the situation surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Currently, we do not have any reported cases of COVID-19 on campus.
In an abundance of caution, the University will transition to virtual learning beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 through Friday, March 27, 2020. To facilitate this transition, classes will be suspended for three days, from Monday, March 16, 2020 through Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
The University will provide additional guidance and tools to assist students and faculty with the transition. Please monitor your FMU email for messages from the Office of the Provost and the Office of Student Affairs as more information will be provided on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
The residence halls and dining hall will remain open and other University business operations will continue as normal.
Faculty and Staff
All faculty and staff are expected to report to work on Monday, March 16, 2020. Please continue to practice safe hygiene, including but not limited to appropriately covering coughs and sneezes, cleaning frequently touched surfaces, and washing hands often. Consider holding meetings in Teams rather than in-person to minimize direct contact. We understand the concern and anxiety you may be experiencing as we face this global pandemic. Let’s all pull together to ensure that we remain safe while continuing to prepare our students for their future.
