Coronavirus FAQ’s

  • What if I need accommodations due to a compromised immune system or other related disability?

Ans: Please contact the Office of Student Affairs via studentaffairs@fmuniv.edu.

  • What is FMU doing to protect us from the coronavirus?

Ans: The University has also taken the following steps to protect the FMU Community:

    • Ensure that all existing hand sanitizers are filled daily with sanitizers that meets the CDC guidelines and placed in key locations around campus.
    • Ordered additional hand sanitizers to be installed immediately upon receipt and placed in high-traffic areas campus-wide.
    • Daily disinfection of high touch areas and buses with recommended materials and per established health agency protocols.
    • Coordinated with Jessie Trice to devise a plan in the event students who live on campus need to self-isolate.

  • Why hasn’t FMU cancelled classes like all of the state schools?

Ans: FMU is sensitive to the dynamic realties of the COVID-19 and to the needs of our students. We have taken action to mitigate risk and monitor the situation including increasing sanitization, and limiting indoor gatherings in alignment with the guidance from federal, state and local health officials. Our campus is a small one, with an average class size of 15. This size allows us to continue to have classes and more importantly to allow students to continue progress toward their educational goals.
