On June 2, 2018, Florida Memorial University’s National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Students Association, held a discussion which is part of a NABJ’s nation-wide initiative called The Black Male Media Project. The Project aims to positively change the narratives around lives and images of Black men in the news and society. WTVJ produced this story on June 9, 2018, discussing how the event inspires students at Florida Memorial University to attain their goals in media.

On behalf of the Black Male College Explorers Program I want to thank everyone that had a helping hand in our program, all the supporters, and everyone that took interest in the summer program 2017. We appreciate you!!! Please video below to view our BMCEP recap video Summer 2017. These young men had an experience of an lifetime. We focus on STEM throughout the summer, careering planning, self-development, and they were taught by our university professors Dr. Thomas Snowden and Ms. Deborah Smith. We are looking forward to more colleagues to get involved and assisting with the program.
