The mission of the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research is to provide leadership, information, direction and technical assistance to faculty and staff in identifying and obtaining external funds, engage in research, the writing and developing of grant/research proposals, instruction and other scholarly activity, and the monitoring of all grant management activities.

Our Goals

The goals of the Office of GSR is to advance the mission of the University through the use of external funds received from grant and contract awards; to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of research and sponsored programs; to increase the productivity of sponsored programs for the entire University; and to provide comprehensive support for the development and administration of sponsored programs. These activities enhance teaching and learning, support institutional growth, promote faculty development and provide services to the community.

Procedures

Grant and contract funds received by the University are managed in accordance with guidelines imposed by the external funding agencies in accordance with standard procedures and federal regulations. This office assists with the submission and implementation of grants and contracts; the monitoring of program expenditures; and with grant reporting and closeout requirements.
