Access to online databases and electronic journals subscribed to by the Library is restricted to current Florida Memorial University (FMU) students, faculty and staff. These online resources are “ licensed from service providers” who rely on IP-addresses or IP-ranges registered to FMU for authentication of “authorized users.” This means that users on-campus and connecting from a campus IP-address are allowed access to the databases automatically, but those using computers with a different IP number from off-campus, are refused access. If you are connecting from off-campus, the Nathan W. Collier library provides “authorized user” authentication and access to these licensed databases through the Web-Access-Management (WAM) system of the Library’s Millennium Web-OPAC, by Innovative Interfaces.
Web-Access-Management (WAM) enables access to our online databases by serving as an on-campus intermediary and provides a valid IP address by passing information between off-campus users and restricted online resources. Authentication through this system requires a Login, thus ensuring compliance with vendor restrictions. The Login used by the Library is your campus ID-Card 14-digit barcode number, which is also your Library Account Number. You will only be required to authenticate against WAM when accessing resources from off-campus.
WAM normally requires no configuration of your web-browser on your part. From wherever you are, just click on the “Databases” link from our web-site or the web-opac home page that leads to a list of online libraryresources. WAM should work with all standard Web-browsers, i.e., Firefox, Explorer, AOL, etc., using any Internet Service Provider, including dial-up or fast-access services.
You need a computer with an Internet connection and a Web-browser.

Access to the following library resources are freely available to all (regardless of location) and do not require authentication. You only need to have Internet access:
All other electronic resources are available to only current FMU students, faculty and staff by way of your campus ID-card, as described above. These resources include:
