Faculty/Staff Email Accounts
Florida Memorial University provides all employees with access to e-mail and the Internet. Access to these services is a privilege governed by the Florida Memorial University Policy on Acceptable Use – Internet Access Policy. To view the complete policy guidelines, please click here.
In order to obtain access, all employees must sign the Human Resources “Acknowledgement of Acceptable User Guidelines for Use of the Internet” form.
On completion of this form, the Human Resource Department faxes a copy of the document to the Division of Information Management and Technology. IMT grants access to the individual within 48 hours of the request and contacts the employee by telephone and campus mail and provides the information.
On termination of employment, employees are required to follow Human Resources exit procedures which includes instructions for termination of email accounts. Please consult with the Human Resources Department for termination procedures.
Email Information
With your network account, you will automatically receive a mailbox on our Microsoft Exchange server. You can access your mail with Microsoft Outlook client software (in your office or the labs) or with Webmail (Outlook Web Access), which requires only access to the web.
Student mailboxes on the server have a quota, or limit, of 40Mb of data. If your mailbox contains more than 40Mb of data, you will receive a message every evening from the server, warning you to delete some mail. If your mailbox reaches 50Mb, you will not be able to send any mail until you delete items from your mailbox.
