Financial assistance is available from the following need-based programs:
Grants are considered gifts aid, which do not have to be repaid.
Awarded to eligible undergraduate students.
Federal SEOG (Supplement Educational Opportunity Grants)
Awarded to students with the most financial need, who must also be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. The amount of this award varies.
These grants are available to students who have resided in the State of Florida for purposes other than educational, during twelve (12) consecutive months prior to the first day of classes of their first semester and enrolled full-time.
FSAG (Florida Students Assistance Grant)
Awarded to students meeting the State of Florida’s residency and need requirements and who applied by the deadline for the State students aid. For the annual renewal of this grant, students must have met the academic year requirement of maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and completing 24 credit hours during the academic year in which the student received the grant.
FRAG (Florida Resident Access Grant)
Provides State funds to Florida Resident students attending a non-profit private College or University located in the State of Florida. For the annual renewal of this grant, students must have met the academic year requirement of maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 and the completion of 24 credit hours for the academic year in which the student received the grant.
A fixed amount of money awarded to students, which must be earned at an hourly rate for work performed on campus at Florida Memorial University. These funds are mostly used to assist students with meeting any financial obligation they have at Florida Memorial University and students living on campus receive priority.
Student Loans must be repaid.
William D. Ford Direct Loan Program
Subsidized and unsubsidized loans have a variable interest rate and are available to students enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per semester at Florida Memorial University. The yearly maximum subsidized loan amounts are based on students’ academic level and are $2625 and $4000 for freshmen, $3500 and $4000 for sophomores, $5500 and $5000 for junior or senior respectively. Entrance and Exit Interviews are required at Florida Memorial University. NOTE: Unless borrower was granted a deferment by the lender, payments of the interest on an unsubsidized loan are required quarterly. Repayment on a subsidized loan starts 6 months after graduation or 6 months after failing to be enrolled in a secondary school for at least 6 credit hours.

Scholarship Information can also be obtained from libraries, various publications, organizations, the office of Student Financial Assistance or the office of Enrollment Management.
Instructions for transferring awards:
Transfer students must follow the procedures listed below to properly apply for financial assistance at Florida Memorial University. If a student has already applied but did not plan to attend Florida Memorial University, he/she must contact the Pell processor to request that Florida Memorial University, title IV of 001486, be included in the list of school choices. If eligible for Federal Pell Grant, student should also request a duplicate Student Aid Report (SAR). The duplicate SAR, when submitted to the school, facilitates the process exponentially. For further information, refer to the processor of your need analysis, check with your local guidance counselor or with the Florida Memorial University Students Financial Assistance Office.
