What is the Help Desk?

The Help Desk is your first point of contact with the technical section – we are here to give help and advice to enable you to get the most out of the facilities. The Help Desk is available to all staff and provides help with all computing queries, including:

  • Network Registration of new users
  • Changing forgotten network passwords
  • Word processing problems
  • Reporting faulty PCs
  • Providing help with PC and any software

The helpdesk is an information centre where you can request help on software provided through our network. Calls can be logged in person, over the telephone dialling extension number 3191, via email helpdesk@fmuniv.edu. All calls are logged on our computerised tracking system and are dealt with as soon as possible. In many cases this means immediately, but please be patient if there is a slight delay at busy times.
