CAMPUS SPOTLIGHT

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is a supplemental learning assistance facility in the General College Division. ARC provides a supportive environment where students can work to enhance academic performance on concepts explored in class. ARC services include diagnosing, remediation, reinforcing, enriching, and evaluating knowledge and skills. Priority is given to students who must complete required laboratory hours in conjunction with their courses, although other students seeking assistance are served. The core assistance strategy in ARC is one-to-one and small-group tutoring with subject area professionals and peer tutors. Thematic workshops are organized to address a limited range of academic concerns (e.g., test anxiety). In addition, tutors work with study groups to review for final examinations.

*Imagine is a publication of Academic Affairs, Freshman Studies Department, and the Humanities Department of Florida Memorial University. The magazine is published once a year. We accept both manuscripts and visual arts. Prize winners in each category are selected by a jury of editors.
