The Office of Grants and Sponsored
Research assists faculty and staff in identifying grant and research funding
opportunities, in writing and developing grant and research proposals, and in
monitoring grants management activities.
Our Goals
Its goal is to advance the mission of
the University through the use of external funds received from grant and
contract awards. To this end, the office endeavors to encourage and support
grant writing, grants management and sponsored research activities as these
processes enhance teaching and learning, support institutional growth, promote
faculty development and provide service to the community (see the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research’s Proposal
Writing and Grant Development Guide).
Procedures
Grant and contract funds received by the
University are managed in accordance with restrictions imposed by the external
funding agency or organization and in accordance with standard and generally
accepted accounting procedures and federal regulations. This office assists
with the implementation of grants and contracts, with the monitoring of program
expenditures, and with grant reporting and closeout requirements.
