In all its communications efforts, the Public Affairs Office emphasizes the high quality of learning and teaching, important scholarship and research, excellence of students and faculty, and the services the University provides its constituencies.
The Promise Newsletter is the flagship publication of Florida Memorial University. Although other Florida Memorial University periodicals provide information about particular parts of the university, it is the mission of The Promise Newsletter is to stimulate interest in and support for Florida Memorial University through feature stories and in a publication format.
Additional publications produced by the Office of Public Affairs include programs for recurring campus events such as Commencement, Founders’ Day, Fall Convocation and the annual President’s Scholarship Banquet.

The University was established by, and remains closely affiliated with, the Baptist Church. However, our motto, “Leadership, Character, and Service,” emphasizes Christian values. Strong moral character, mutual respect, freedom of worship, and a commitment to serve are the hallmarks of what it means to be a Florida Memorial Lion.
