2009 community leadership award recipient JASON TAYLOR

Jason Taylor, linebacker for the Miami Dolphins, has earned numerous accolades for his achievements on the field, but it’s his triumphs in community service that we honor by presenting him with Florida Memorial University’s 2009 Community Leadership Award. Mr. Taylor has worked with numerous charitable organizations, such as the Miami Project to Cure

Paralysis and the Urban League of Broward County. His greatest contributions have come from his foundation, the Jason Taylor Foundation, which seeks to build a better future for all children in South Florida.

2009 Corporate Partner Award Recipient

The Florida Memorial University Corporate Partner Award acknowledges a significant contribution made by a corporation or small business to the advancement of the University. In October 2008, Florida Memorial and Denny’s® Restaurant

partnered to launch the newly created Denny’s® SingleParent Student Resource Center. It is through the generous support of Denny’s® Restaurant that singleparent students at Florida Memorial now have oncampus support to help them reach their educational and professional goals. In addition to the SingleParent Resource Center, Denny’s® also provides scholarships annually to Hospitality and Business Management students.

Profile 1

The University was established by, and remains closely affiliated with, the Baptist Church. However, our motto, “Leadership, Character, and Service,” emphasizes Christian values. Strong moral character, mutual respect, freedom of worship, and a commitment to serve are the hallmarks of what it means to be a Florida Memorial Lion.
