Coach Marshall began his coaching career at Florida Memorial University mid-season during the 1978-79 school year, taking over a team that up to that point had not won a game in the university’s history. Within two seasons the Lady Lions placed second in the conference title games.
During the 1991-92 season the Lady Lions captured their first Florida Sun Conference Championship, and went on to win four consecutive championships. The Lady Lions have made 3 appearances in the NAIN National tournament.
Coach Marshall is looking forward to the 2004-05 season. The Lady Lions completed the 2003-04 season as Florida Sun Conference Champions and are looking forward to returning to post season play.
The team returns several veterans from last year’s squad and with the addition of two freshmen and two junior college transfers; the team is expected to improve its depth and talent at key positions.
The Lady Lions will play hard and fast hoping to entertain, and make their fans and the Florida Memorial University family proud.
Coach Marshall earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Fort Valley State College and for the past twenty years, he has been a member of the Miami-Dade Fire Department, where he holds the Rank of Lieutenant.
Coach Marshall and his wife Helen have six children; Tyrius, Broderick, Stephen, Myboya, Abantu and Christopher. The Marshalls reside in Miami, Florida.
