Lions Defeat St. Thomas in Crucial Conference Contest

Florida Memorial University used a full court pressure defense to force 22 St. Thomas turnovers and defeat the Bobcats 74-66 at Pace High School gymnasium.

The Lions led by as much as 16 in the second half, but St. Thomas refused to go away, making several key baskets to stay within striking distance. The Lions had chances to blow the game open, but poor foul shooting (45% for the game) plagued them throughout.

Florida Memorial University was paced by Senior Tremaine Stevens with 31 points, with 21 of them coming after intermission. Most of them shut down rallies the Bobcats were able to put together. Junior Andre Thomas chipped in 12 points and 4 blocked shots for the Lions (10-9 overall and 3-4 in the conference) . St Thomas was led by Alex Dimiron and Tracy Razz with 16 apiece.

Florida Memorial University will next face Warner Southern College, Saturday February 2nd in the Lions Den.
