The Professional Development Program of the School of Business seeks to build knowledge, character, confidence, leadership, and ethical values to help students enrich their lives. Helping students develop their full potential as citizens and academics in society and practical business environment is germane to the program. It also creates a stimulating atmosphere for networking with professionals from the business community, and exchange of ideas with faculty and fellow students through seminars and colloquiums.

Professional Development Opportunities

Tools and techniques developed by the Center for Creative Leadership, the Hartwick Humanities in Management Institute and the faculty at Florida Memorial University (FMU) build leadership abilities such as the following:

IMPLEMENTATIONS Faculty/Division: Delta Mu Delta

  • Promote Delta Mu Delta, its purposes and the standards of academic excellence it represents throughout both the School of Business and FMU.
  • Identify, invite and induct eligible students to membership annually.
  • Hold chapter meetings, at least two chapter meetings per year.
  • Support and participate in national programs of the society. The chapter may wish, for example, to participate in the Delta Mu Delta Triennial conference.
  • Participate in campus events that encourage the advancement of business thought. Chapter may sponsor or cosponsor a lecture series, ethics and leadership seminars, or other events of this nature.
  • Organize fund raising activities.
  • Participate in community service projects.
