The Transfer Student Support Program is an ongoing orientation program for transfer students during their first semester at Florida Memorial University. The program is designed to assist students in making a smooth transition into the institution by providing academic advisement information and access to available campus resources and student support services.

The Peer Advisement Center will provide initial advisement and academic degree planning. Transfer students will then be assigned to a Faculty Advisor within their chosen major who will monitor their progress towards successful achievement of their academic, personal, and career goals. Additionally, “Success Skills” workshops will be offered to transfer students to promote good study habits and assist in balancing busy schedules. The program will also facilitate positive student growth and development by encouraging students to become actively involved in student organizations, clubs, volunteerism and other campus activities.

Throughout your matriculation at Florida Memorial University, the Peer Advisement Center can help you work through challenging and frustrating situations. Drop-In sessions will be available on Wednesdays from 5 – 7pm in the Peer Advisement Center, located in the William Lehman Aviation Building, Room 103. Please contact Ms. Hixon to schedule an appointment or RSVP your attendance at (305) 474-4344.
