Flight Training
Students at Florida Memorial University can pursue a career in the United States Air Force as an officer through a cross town association with the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 155 at the University of Miami.
GENERAL
1. Qualified students can participate in the U.S. Air Force ROTC program for up to two years with absolutely NO MILITARY OBLIGATION (as freshmen and sophomore)
2. Cadets will develop leadership skills applicable to civilian and/or military lifestyles
3. Frequent activities include physical training, paintball, confidence courses, snorkeling, leadership training, occasional base visits, and much more
ADVANTAGES
1. Allows students to become U.S. Air Force Officers while completing their Bachelor’s degree program at FMU
2. Provides cadets with uniforms, books, and equipment for all U.S. Air Force ROTC classes at no cost
3. Prepares cadets to assume positions of increasing responsibility and importance in the U.S. Air Force and beyond in their civilian careers
4. Offers many opportunities for hands on experiences
