Mission of the Testing Center

The general mission of the Testing Center is to offer a comprehensive and cohesive system of assessments and evaluation. This mission entails providing useful information to guide instructions, help the placement of students in optimal learning situations, and determine for them their levels of achievement and aptitude for graduate and professional opportunities. The Center will serve faculty, staff, and students in particular. The mission is accomplished by performing general activities, such as, (1) developing effective and suitable testing programs; (2) making information on local and national tests available to the student body; (3) appraising faculty and students of the testing schedules of all major tests; (4) serving as an efficient testing site for pertinent internal and external testing; (5) maintaining records of testing done to facilitate storage, retrieval, and dissemination for the convenience of faculty and students where applicable, consistent with acceptable testing standards; and (6) applying up-to-date technology in accomplishing those goals, and in the process, providing services at reasonable cost.

The Testing Center is located in the Sarah Blocker Hall Bldg. rm. 211-212 and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. Please contact us by calling (305)626-3775/6.
