The CLAST is an achievement test that measures selected communication and mathematics skills adopted by the Florida State Board of Education. Candidates for a Florida Teaching Certificate must receive passing scores on all four subtests of the CLAST. At Florida Memorial University, the CLAST is required for Education majors only. In order to register for the CLAST, the student must complete an application, obtain the chairperson's signature, and pay the appropriate fee. The Chairperson will submit the completed application to the Testing Center by a specified deadline. There is no fee waiver available. NO late registrations, walk-ins, or standby registrations are permitted. Applications may also be mailed to the students upon request.

The CLAST subtests (except Essay) are available on the computer (CAT-CLAST). CLAST is administered on campus. CAT-CLAST is not administered on campus. Additional information may be obtained from the Testing Center.

Upon completion of the registration process, admission ticket is mailed to each registered examinee approximately 2 weeks before the test date.
