College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Policies GENERAL INFORMATION
Florida Memorial University , a historically Black University, is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and truth. The university recognizes that education contributes to the quality of life. The university expects that students will leave its community of scholars and traditions prepared to participate fully in society. The university also recognizes and honors students prior learning by awarding credit for a full range of College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests which are designed to assess the prior knowledge of students gained through independent study, advanced high school or honors classes, or other experiences outside of university classroom. CLEP tests measure the mastery of College-level, introductory course content in a wide range of disciplines.
WHAT IS THE CLEP?
CLEP is a series of examinations that allow individuals to earn University credit for what they know, regardless of where they learned it. CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States.
CLEP examinations are all 90 minutes long. With the exception of English Composition with Essay, the exams are composed of two sections of multiple-choice questions. The English Composition with Essay exam consists of a 45-minute multiple-choice section and a 45-minute essay section.
