CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (C.E.U.) and CERTIFICATES
The School of Graduate Programs and Continuing Education offers Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.) and Certificates are granted for satisfactory completion of "Non-Credit" courses/workshops/seminars that are important to the needs of many audiences. These non-credit offerings are normally structured to serve the specific educational requirements of a clientele group and are short-term and offered in a variety of delivery modes. Many of the planned programs or activities are offered in response to the requested needs of target audiences that are relevant to the learner's continuing education and/or job requirements. For each participant that has met the specified requirements for satisfactory completion, a permanent individual record is maintained indicating the following:
· Name and address of the institution
· Name and Social Security number (or other numerical identification) of the individual participant
· Title of the program or activity (the title will be descriptive as possible)
· Completion date of the program or activity
· Number of C.E.U.s awarded, and
· Report of assessment results or criteria for satisfactory completion.
In summary, C.E.U.s are continuing education credits awarded for a non-credit activity offered by an institution of higher learning. The University offers several seminars/workshops and/or conferences throughout the year and awards the C.E.U.s and/or Certificates to individuals that have met the prescribed requirements. C.E.U.s are not a substitution for university credit.
