Admission to the Professional Education Program
The curriculum for the Professional Education Program is designed to be fulfilled in approximately two years after completion of the general education curriculum required by Florida Memorial University. Application for admittance into the Professional Education Program must be done at the end of the second semester sophomore year. Forms may be obtained from the Division of Education. To qualify for admittance, the student must satisfy the following requirements:
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the completion of 60 credits
- A composite GPA of 2.5 at the completion of EDU 203 and EDU 204 or 206
- An above average pre-student teaching evaluation
- A one page written statement of your "Reasons for Teacher Education Career Choice"
- A Letter of Recommendation from a faculty advisor
- A successful interview with the Professional Education Program faculty committee.
Provisional status for admittance into the Professional Education Program may be granted for one academic semester to any student who has not met all the requirements for full admission. Provisional status will be granted at the discretion of the Professional Education Program faculty committee.
