The Bachelor of Science degree program in Management Information Systems emphasize the concept that the computer is a management tool which can be used effectively in the planning, control, and decision making activities of the organization. One objective of the program is to provide students the skills and knowledge needed for employment in the computer industry and general business world as programmers, analysts, and managers. Additional objectives are to provide students with an understanding of the principles and operations of business, and the importance of the computer as a management tool through planning, control, and decision-making activities of the organization.
The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Management Information Systems provides students with the required knowledge and skills to seek employment in the computer and information technology industry, and in general business organizations. Graduates seek positions as programmers, systems analysts, technical support, web designer, and other managerial positions.
Program Educational Objectives
The main objective of the BS in Management Information Systems program is to produce graduates who will have the following:

Sufficient quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills in conjunction with a foundation in business, management, system analysis and design, and programming skills to solve and to manage information technology as a tactical resource in a business organization.

The skills to work cooperatively in a team, and to disseminate the results and findings to provide recommendations in an effectively written and oral presentation using computer applications.

Program Outcomes
Each management information system graduate will demonstrate the following:

An ability to apply theoretical concepts of computing science, system analysis and design, business management, and database management to enable analysis and resolution of business problems using the skills needed to write modern computer programs for business tools so as to gain added value to the business strategy.

An ability to work and communicate effectively with people to manage the venture successfully, including working on team projects. As well as the ability to compose written documents and make oral presentations using application software in a public setting.

A general understanding of computer ethics and social and professional responsibility along with knowledge of contemporary society through the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
